This statue is of one of Harlem's native sons, the first black chairman of
a major Congressional committee. Come hear how he led a boycott of a segregated department store decades before the
birth of the civil rights movement, paving the way for many of the other great Harlemites whose lives are explored on
this tour.

Modern Harlem was built on Jazz. This famous photograph commemorates
many of the great Jazz musicians who made the neighborhood what it is. On our walking tour, we visit the location of
